Each state has laws relating to families that are unique to that state. Oregon is no different. Oregon requires parenting classes, if there is a child involved.  Oregon calls alimony "spousal support", we call divorce a "dissolution of marriage."  Each County has unique local rules.  Family law is a complicated area of the law.
